Issue

I have both the Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers on my PC. How can specify which one to use when viewing Internet-based reports in ICA and Research Wizard?

Solution

Zacks products will use the browser that is specified as the default browser in your Windows operating system. Both Netscape and and IE have menu options to set it as a default browser.

To make Netscape your default browser, click here to visit the Netscape web site for detailed instructions.

To configure Internet Explorer as the default browser, follow these directions posted by Microsoft on their help site: 

  1. Start Internet Explorer
  2. Click Yes when the following message is displayed:
Internet Explorer is not currently your default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser?

If you do not receive this message when you start Internet Explorer:

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Tools and then click Internet Options.
  2. Click the Programs tab and select the check box next to "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser."
  3. Close and reopen Internet Explorer.
  4. Click Yes when the following message is displayed:
Internet Explorer is not currently your default browser. Would you like to make it your default browser?
