PC-Based Applications

What are Zacks PC-Based Applications?

Zacks PC-Based Applications are combined into Zacks Research System, a suite of equity research software modules and data. The modules and data can be combined into various packages depending on your needs.

ZRS modules are:

  • Zacks Screen is one of the most powerful custom equity screening programs available to professional investors for identifying new buying opportunities. The main purpose of Screen module is to provide users with a method of selecting stocks based upon a self-selected list of requirements. This process can be repeated using unlimited combinations of items, time periods, and conditions until a desired universe is found.

  • DBM-Power is a data management system used to view, create, update and modify custom databases from one or multiple existing databases. It is a great tool for developing large backtesting projects, and for building investment report production systems. The DBM-Power enables you to build the production system required to automatically update your model with split-adjusted data and integrate the model into the daily, weekly, or monthly reporting cycles of your firm.

  • Trading Strategy Evaluator (TSE) is a real-world simulation designed to determine your model's economic viability when subjected to trading costs and limitations. With the Trading Strategy Evaluator you can access your model's economic viability when subjected to real-world trading costs and limitations; perform sensitivity analysis to show how your model stands up to incensed commissions, slippage, and other costs; test the effects of timing strategies and cash positions on your equity selection model, compare the stocks selected by you model to the performance of the stocks you actually held during the test period.
  • Zacks Alert Reports provide you with the ability to monitor significant events that can impact the future prices of stocks in your portfolio - significant estimate revisions, recommendation changes and EPS surprises. Alert Reports give you the timely notice of the changes in key financial criteria so you can take the appropriate action. In addition, you can run these reports to generate new investment opportunities.

  • Zacks Link is an interactive, menu-based system that enables users to produce customized charts/research reports using prices, estimate and fundamental data in Zacks Research System. Data is accessed with the Dynamic Data Exchange system using a highly flexible, simple and logical command structure. Just enter a data request directly into a cell or range of cells in the spreadsheet. Zacks Link does the rest. Automatically. When your ZRS databases are updated, all data and all formulas are recalculated using the current data so your reports always show the most up to date information.

  • Rank Analysis is an application designed to test your model's components both individually and in combination to determine their effectiveness. With the Rank Analysis you can examine the correlation between variables and eliminate items that are not contributing to your analysis. It will also aid you in evaluating the performance of vendor models independently and when combined with your current criteria. The reports can be exported to other applications for further analysis.

  • Portfolio Analytics allows you compare the performance and financial characteristics of the stock in client portfolios to customized benchmarks or model portfolios. It provides style analysis, normal performance measurement, and diversification vs. benchmarks analysis.

  • Integrated Company Analysis is the best tool for examining stocks using customized charts, graphs, and reports.
